Also known as the Vanishing Volcanoes, this unique island chain consists of amazing ryolite domes, sweeping cliff faces stretching hundreds of metres vertically into the air, and is littered with endemic flora and fauna not found anywhere on the mainland. Adding to the mystique of this magical place is the marine life commonly seen in the area.

Cathedral Cove Summer Special
One of the jewels of the Coromandel's crown, Cathedral Cove, is a 'must do' for anyone visiting our beautiful region. Come with us and explore Boat Harbour, the spectacular Orua sea cave, Hot Water Beach, Te Whanganui a Hei marine reserve, and other brilliant sites on this 2 hour tour of our backyard. A great option for all ages, and a neat way to see the lasting positive impacts of a 30 year old marine reserve - how many snapper can you count?
If we have time you might even be able to hop in for a quick swim and snorkel. Annnnd, don't forget to snap a selfie at the iconic Cathedral Cove!!

Coastal & Island Classic
The 90 minute coastal and island classic is our renowned everyday trip. We visit awesome coastal beaches, sheltered bays, volcanic islands with amazing rock and cave formations, and cover some very interesting history along the way.
Wildlife may include birds such as little blue penguin, fluttering shearwater, diving petrel, shags and gannets. Bountiful schools of kahawai, blue mao mao, and sometimes tuna are often seen, so keep those eyes peeled! For the lucky ones dolphins, whales, or seals may be on our journeys path!

Important Info for all tours
The route of our tours varies with the ever changing sea conditions, so no two tours are the same! Operating around the low tide can be tricky for us, so keep your phone close, as we may alter the trip time by an hour or two. We are also a weather dependant service, and your safety and comfort is our priority. If we decide conditions are not suitable we will contact you ASAP with a few options. This may be a refund, voucher, rescheduling of the booking, or an alternative tour.

Slipper Island/Whakahau
Slipper island shuttle
- 2 miles off the coast, about 15min by boat from Tairua Marina
- Spectacular scenery, including volcanic coastline, cliffs, pohutukawa trees, and secluded golden sand beaches
- Great swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding, beach games (eg corn hole, soccer, volleyball etc). Some equipment available to hire from us.
- South Bay is perfect for couples, families, and larger groups. Take some nibbles and a couple of quiet drinks for a great day out
- Note toilet facilities not available
- Cost is $40pp each way for a couple, and prices reduce from there depending on numbers. Pick up/drop off times may vary with tide conditions and boat availability, but give us a call to discuss further.
Camping Available
Slipper Island has a great campground. We offer a shuttle service there, pick-up and drop-off.
